I've noticed this, too when I have been online for long intervals of time. I believe I was still running Win98 at the time. Right.. you can even enter "Dim buddies after they have been idle for 1 minute" but they still won't be dimmed until 10 minutes have passed..
I guess this is another AIM server issue, though..

Right now, people only appear idle if they haven't touched their computer for 10-plus minutes. Is it possible to show exactly how long someone has been idle when it is less than 10 minutes?
Or maybe if they don't have "show how long I've been idle" checked, you can still tell?
