Umm

A button would be nice I guess, but just go to the "AIM+" menu on the IM of the person you are talking to, then click "History". It will open up the history viewer and it will display the history for the person you are talking to at the time.

yes

aim chatrooms work with aol private chatrooms, you can talk to friends who are using AOL. You cant access special AOL rooms (such as conference rooms, lobbies, live celeb chats, etc) though, as far as I know.

i hate subjects... anyway You can create an AOL account from an AIM name only if you have the AIM accounts password. so dont give anyone your password. Also, there is an exploit using AOLs web based sign up feature that allows people to steal AIM accounts when creating an AOL account. Its not too co...

yeah

before AOL added that feature where closing AIM just minimizes it, the away window would minimize to the desktop not the taskbar. It was better that way because it would just stay hidden when apps were in front, and didnt use any space on the taskbar.

searching aim+ history

if you want to find something in a specific log, you can just press CTRL+F in the history viewer and this will open the find dialog. If you want to search ALL your history files for something you could always use windows find files/folders feature, just browse to the history directory and Search for...

or the third way

block ads.web.aol.com from your HOSTS file.

C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS for win9x

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts for NT/2K/XP

(paths may be different on your system)

just put

0.0.0.0 ads.web.aol.com

and save it.

caching?

this would probably waste resources but if you could just monitor when users are away/back then you could cache the away message. So you scroll over someones name once, it loads the away message, and whenever you go over it again it just shows the cache until that user comes back / goes away again, ...

idea

aim+ could check the sound paths of each sound in aim, then set them the sound settings to none.. now it can create a temp dir, and copy all the sounds to that dir .. now when an IM comes, instead of AIM playing the sound, AIM+ does... and for sound volume, just recopy the wav and ajust its volume.....

Compressing the history folder using NTFS file system

I am running WindowsXP, with the NTFS file system. This allows me to use the "Compress contents to save disk space" option on the AIM+ History Folder, this reduced my history folder from 5mb to about 1mb. I am just wondering if this is a good idea, are there any reasons why it wouldn't? Al...

actually

actually, it can hurt your computer. I havent seen aim filter in like a year, but the last time I had it (the code), there were 2 backdoors. One caused the user to send the author the users IP, but the second command caused AIM Filter to launch 500 copies of calc.exe which usually would lock up your...

jpeg compression

I don't understand why one would want a photo in AIM. Not that I'm knocking your product, but couldn't a regular printscreen (Alt + Print Scrn) do the same thing? http://www.aimicons.net/ the difference i think is that this app copies the selected area and saves it to the clipboard as a compressed ...

I noticed the last post was in March, it is now June 8, and I am using AIM+ 2.2 build 63 and I am experiencing this problem. Some logs cause the links to open in IE, but others load the page in the history viewer. I have 2 logs, one loads links in IE, the other loads in the history viewer, I viewed ...
