If someone has an illegal copy of Windows XP Corp, most likely the "Devil's 0wn" copy, then SP1 won't install.

TweakTown Windows XP SP1 Updating Tips and Tricks

Amazingly enough, this article hasn't gotten yanked or anything. So, this is actually pretty funny and cool. Read it and get SP1... ;)

By the way, I also used the XPdite fix, just for better safety.

Hmm...now that I think about it..
I have a burned copy of WinXP Pro "Corporate Edition" I think it is--all I know is that it never has to be activated. I wonder if you can install SP1 over that. I was planning on installing it on a friends laptop, and I wanna make sure it works before I go and screw with her laptop. Well, my guess is that it should work, but then again, it's Microsoft software..
