Microsoft Office Calendar

Post by Master Jedi »

My MS Outlook calendar has all sort of events in it. I'm trying to find a program that will display upcoming events in a floating window on the desktop or on my taskbar. Does anyone know of any?

Nevermind. I've decided to write one myself. I've already got much of a skeleton for it...

I'm gonna replace the list with culumns so it looks neater.

If you can read them all, tell me all the last names (the things I was actually trying to hide) on there. I'm sure all you did was notice that the only things that began with S were on the same date and logically concluded that was her birthday.

No.. I was just very very excited and thought I saw something I didn't (at the time it was only about 40 mins till Spring Break)...

However... Why is your Birthday listed two times?

The events listed are the next 10 events in the Outlook calendar on the computer I tested the program on. Those 10 events span more than a year, so some birthdays are listed twice.

so this program you're writing will use Outlook's Calendar? If you are going to make it public, it would be so cool. Also, how bout adding the todo list.... :D

Yes...it come straight from Outlooks calendar. As for the "todo" lost, do you mean the "Tasks" list? I might do that.

I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like now. There are a few more things I want to do before I post the app.

1. Get full data from Events' description (right now I can only get text, I want to be able to get the formatting, images, etc. from them).
2. Add the tasks.
3. Add functions to create/delete events.

Edit: I removed the screenshot to be nice to Big-O and not take up all their server space. A recent screenshot is toward the end of this topic.

This is sweet.... I've been looking for something like this for years. All the ones I've tried in the past didn't use Outlook's data, or were complete memory hogs, or had extremely ugly interfaces.

This is a complete memory hog, just so you know. It keeps the Outlook objects active so it won't be a CPU hog. I'm running it now and it's using about 5 megs of RAM. (Written for memory efficiency, it would take less than a meg).
