IE Problems

Post by sweeney »

I have a number of problems with Internet Explorer, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced them, and if anyone knows how to fix them. First, when a new window pops up, nothing will load in it at all. I have to hit [stop] and [refresh] in order for it to work. Second, alot of the times my IE won't close. I click the X, or right click and hit close, and it gives me the sys error sound. I don't know the title of the sound, but if anyone has the original sound set, its the "ding." I have to ctrl+alt+del in order to close it, which is very annoying. Lastly, on most pages, an extra ad is added to the top of the page. Its just a random ad, no one thing that its for. I had an extra IE toolbar, but I uninstalled it, and the ad is still there. Thanks if anyone can help me.

I've had problems with IE in the past and I've had to remove it and reinstall it. I found the info needed to uninstall it at the microsoft knowledge database. As a forewarning, you will have to edit something in your registry.

run an adremover first. That cleared up a lot of the problems I had with IE for a while. now I just have to run it a least 1 month to keep it clean but I try to do it once a week so it does not get massily out of hand
