windows 2000 start up logo help!!

Post by kostonmenikmati »

heres the deal

just copy and paste the URLs cause it doesnt work if you click them

i changed this: http://kostonmenikmati.netfirms.com/winstart.jpg

to this: http://kostonmenikmati.netfirms.com/boot.gif

and i get this blue screen after it starts loading:
*** STOP: 0x0000001E (0xC0000005,0x00000000,0x00000000,0x00000000) KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

If this is the first time you’ve seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Refer to your Getting Start manual for more information on troubleshooting Stop errors.
it works fine if i use my default again but not with my logo.

this is my desktop: http://kostonmenikmati.netfirms.com/desktop2.jpg

You have to keep the filenames the same?

The original 2000 file.. whatever that is. It has to stay that name.
Also.. I know that for Windows 98, the image can only be so large, and it had to be under a certain file size.

Now I have no idea what those last two items are, but you might want to look into it. File size, and Image size!

Your color mode is not correct in the custom loading image. It must be in 256 colors and a bitmap if I'm not mistaken. Also make sure it is the same size (dimensions) as the old one and retains the correct file name.
