80x CD Burner?

Post by Axilla »

Some chick was trying to convince me that she has one.

I once read that the max speed of a single-laser cd burner was 52x because anything faster than that would shatter a CD.

Is she on crack, does she have a dual laser cd-burner that costs like a grand, or was the article I read just wrong?

if 1x = 150 KB/s (or is it in bits?) then....

80x = 12000 KB/s
which is around 59 seconds? for an 80 min cd? (700 MB)

This thread kind of reminds me of guys who compare the size of their penises to see who has a bigger one, but in this case, instead of penis size, we're comparing CD write speed to see who is more manly.

Hahaha.. what you just said reminds me of a conversation i had with some friends about ourselves..how we keep upgrading our computers so much. it's sorta like -- "My computer is faster than yours, that must mean i gota bigger penis than you!"

But in reality... it's all an insecurity of how small their penis is.. to make it seem bigger..than need biger, faster stuff.

For me and my friends..computers is the way to go, others it's cars..and crotch rockets and dirtbikes and such. :roll:
