Winamp HUD

Post by Anthony »

I am looking for a program that will sit in my takbar and display what I have playing in winamp. I just don't want to have more space being took up then has to be and I already have plenty of space left in my taskbar for such a program (My start menu takes up two rows).

Umm....I had a plugin that displayed the currently playing song in the active window's titlebar. I dunno if that could be useful to you or not.

hmmm...

well.... if you set winamp to go to the systray only, that eliminates the window bar.

Now, when your winamp icon iis in the systray, all you gotta do is put your mouse cursor over the icon and a tooltip will pop up with the song.

BUT i would recommend something even better....... those winamp window buttons that i always use...

plugin for winamp.

it was talked about a long time ago....... heres the link: http://discuss.big-o-software.com/viewtopic.php?t=1346

Umm...there's always Windowshade mode and "Always on top."

One thing I love about WinAMP is that it's smart enough to snap to the edges of the screen. Toggle "Always-on-top" mode, minimize all the windows you want open from WinAMP to Windowshade mode, then snap it to whatever edge of the screen you want. I did that all the time, with WinAMP in the top-left of my screen. It's small, out of the way, and still useable in an instant.

It never liked Style XP. I had a conversation with Master Jedi a while ago and he told me that the way that plugin is written, it can't work with Style XP. Personally, look at where I have winamp:

Actually.. your wrong. Considering Windows Blinds has been around since Windows 98. -- And StyleXP .. well, by the name, came out after XP was released...

So it seems to me.. StyleXP is a wannabe version of Windows Blinds. Although it may be better than Windows Blinds... I have no idea. I don't use either.. hell.. I don't even use Windows.

I said it's Windowshade mode. All it does is make WinAMP tiny, but still a window. If you look at Matt's screenshot, you'll see that WinAMP is running, but in Windowshade mode.
