hey guys i'm here, lol i forgot about this.......hey i'm runnin xp, and I'm 100% positive its not the blaster cuz i got the patch for that a long time ago. No it just restarts the computer, then it says it has recovered from a serious error, lol! But that said it before the computer would restart as soon as you are connected to the internet!

no, its a blue screen.

go to system properties (riteclick my computer, prop) and go to the Advanced tab, then click "Settings" under startup and recovery. in the window, uncheck "Automatically Restart". then, when it does it again, give us the message and the stop code (0x00000000??)

for example:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (0x0000000A)

hmm sounds like you keep getting a page file dump. A friend of mine who knows a crapload about computer and XP told me if you get more than 3 page files dumps you need to reformate since it corrupts the page files everytime ti does the dump

uhh?? u can clear the pagefile.. how can it corrupt? and, if im wrong, u can always make another pagefile on another partition, then move it back. problem solved!!!

no its not a pagefile dump its a BSOD!!!

A BSOD caused by a exploit (like the blaster worm)? I had this happen to me, the only reason I don't think it's a exploit is because I'm so up to date for windows and have a router so... Guess not...

Would have been fun to discover a exploit though.

NO!!!

w32.blaster.worm DOES NOT CAUSE BLUE SCREENS

this is different. if it was blaster, a popup box would come up and ur comp will shutdown in a few seconds, NOT CRASH.

I'm leaning toward the former.. moreso than the latter.. He said his computer is up-to-date. Therefor it couldn't be an exploit. Maybe a virii... but not an exploit.

If you're getting IRQ errors try taking out a PCI card that you don't need (a dial up modem if u have one) otherwise change the location of your PCI cards. I don't know the reasoning behind this but this fixed my IRQ stop errors.
