Outlook is crap.. but how many reasons are there?

Post by Jrrtt37 »

i'm using Outlook express, why? i'm really not sure, more for the fact that i've been using it for a while, and i'm just used to it. anyway, since i've had to switch from Stargate to Earthlink. they set up my e-mail with outlook with the program that i had to install that they gave me. Anyway, they did a real shit job on setting it up. so i had to do it manually. well with Stargate. for the POP3 sever, incoming and outgoing was mail.stargate.net the POP3 for earthlink is pop.earthlink.net and the SMTP server is smtpauth.earthlink.net.

Now.. while setting up it asks for incoming POP3 and outgoing to be SMTP.
why?

and it doesn't work. now i changed it for both of them to read pop.earthlink.net. and it works. so why would it ask for both of them :?:

SMTP sends the email.

POP3 receives it...

SMTP is kinda important if you want to send mail...

If your can't figure out the Earthlink email (which would be very sad) you can use RR's (mine is smtp-sever.rochester.rr.com ).
