SPAM - Laws

Post by Anthony »

- The state of CA currently has laws against SPAM
- The United States is about to sign into law rules against SPAM
- The United Kingdom on Thursday signed laws against SPAM

The last two items happened in the last week.

-What happened all of a sudden? Did people in Goverment finally get to much SPAM of their own?
- Will other Countries follow suit now that two major Countries have?
- Will this really help, or will people just send it outside of these places?

The gov't has enough of a chance of stopping the spread of SPAM as they do in stopping the influx of drugs into this country. Like water, SPAM will always find a way into our Inboxes

I agree, but the more places that have laws the less SPAM... Major SPAMers are located in the United States. Would it be worth it to move out of a Country such as the United States into a place like... Oh say China... Or Canada... Or anywhere?

well a lot of the spam we get comes from over seas or is bonced over seas making it hard to prosicute them. Also a lot of the spam we do get is illige. *I think all the spam I currenly get into my hotmail address is illigle but I have reduced it to one 2 message a days so it does not bug me). Plus there are so many loop holes in it

Well with the United States and others (I think (big suprise) Germany has laws against it too) make these laws other nations (big Internet Countries) will be encourged to make their own laws to interact with the other Countries existing ones. Also small Intenet Countries but big on SPAM might think the same way.

Two people in Virginia have been arrested under relatively new spam laws already.
