can anyone give me a review/info on bit torrents?

i've been using Ircspy.com to get files and programs that i need. just the usual stuff. and they have a advertisment for their sister site http://www.torrentspy.com/ and i've downloaded a file and it works, but is it really safe?

any help?

dude, ive been using torrents for the past few months... its awesome! my original source of torrents is now closed though. (suprnova.org) but there are others (torrentreactor.to, isohunt.com, so on...) and yes, so far i havent gotten any viruses and they are awesome.

Torrents are less safe then other forums of P2P because it's a piece of cake for the RIAA/MIAA to get your IP...

As far as a virus goes though... As long as the site is legit your not going to get a virus ever.

i rarely download music, but i did notice that i had the IP of everyone that i was associated to at the time of the download, didn't like that, i was using IRCspy.com and going through mIRC and figured that was the safest, for security, IP wise with RIAA and what not.

irc is the safest to use when you're the client

But their not coming back with torrents - at least not bit torrents.

But SuprNova sucks anyways.

im all into isohunt now. does anyone know of a better one?

I thought they were doing their own peer to peer torrent network...

my favorite torrent site (not suprnova) got shut down also
