Crashing in Win9x Systems

Post by Mousafiris »

I used to have the previous version of hkSFV (hkSFV32) and it worked greatly with my Win98se. I unistalled it before installing the new one (v2 build 75) as I was told to, but whenever I try to check a .sfv file (or whenever I click on the right mouse button) it crashes and the well known error window appears with this info:

"HKSF caused an invalid page fault in module COMCTL32.DLL at 19f:bfbb588d.

Is there anyting I can do about it, since in this state is totally useless to me? :/

Thanks in advance

Mousafiris:

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem.

It seems it only shows up on Win9x boxes, and in the last 2 months of development we didn't have access to any machines except Windows 2000 and XP.

I've almost finished setting up a Windows 95 machine to test things on, and as soon this fixed I'll release a new version (including fixes for the other bugs that have shown up so far).

Probably be releasing a new version (primarily bug fixes) sometime this weekend (maybe sunday night, again).

Thank you for the quick response Ryan. I'm almost glad that it's not just my problem

I'm really grateful for this excellent program and I hope that soon all Win9x users will be able to use it as well...we are plenty still :)

Take care and keep up the good work...the users do appreciate it.

This (and all other known Windows 9x/ME problems) should be fixed as of version 2.0.1.

As always, let us know if you still experience any problems..
