I have to go on the side of word of mouth being one of your best forms of adertisements....

I have referred a few people.

Keep in mind that the more "mass advertising" you put out the more people might avoid it because it blends in with all the other mass advertising. This

You have a point there. If I'm looking for a new toy, I read the user ratings first. If I had never heard of AIM+, and saw reviews like that, I'd download it in a heartbeat.

Download.com is probably the best way to go for the time being.

Download.com is a great place to figure out if something good are not. I try to make sure I read the neg rating first and see how much of any really value is in those then I read the positive ones (if anyone read the review IMESH had you would understand y I like to read the negs. over 90% of the people love it and those were all short review of people who did not know of anything else but the negs told me every problem it had and what other things to try are) Just my 2 cents. I also have a review of AIM+ there. Got a few DEADaim people IM me telling me how wrong I was (I kindof compared it to DEADaim pointing out everthing AIM+ was better in and those people were not to happy with me)

With me I only download stuff when I know what I want. I hate reading the reviews at a site. I feel they are argue with other reviews too much. If I want to know what someone else think about a program I go and look at some "offical" person's review. Too many people post bad things about a product to simply make it look bad.

that's not possible..capabilities are a part of the oscar protocol, not something he can just modify.

well, you can edit that stuff in the aimres.dll actually...i experimented and screwed it all up lol...im not sure what all can be changed, but i know i screwed it up beyond repair haha, had to reinstall aim cause aimres was so messed up...backup your aimres.dll before messing with the mouse-over stuff!!
