well..i installed 4.7 last night..and ive now been online for a little over 13 hours and its using 100,000KB of VM :-?

it must b/c i use the latest version of AIM n mine is only using 6,000 VM and ive been on for 14hours

so basically the longer you stay on AIM the more memory it takes up? :confusion: :|

wow this is old.....

and no, it was a problem w/ his comp, i leave aim on all the time and it doesnt take a meg of physical and virtual mem

it called a memory leak. A program with a memory leak will keep taking up more and more space the longer it is left running

seems like this memory leak affects users to different degrees, on my computer using AIM 4.8 the most it ever used was 7 megs (at the time of signing on its around 4.5).

I just downloaded AIM 5.2.3255 and it starts off using 22 megs. How many additional useless features could they have added!?!?!?!

With my 5.2.3277 im using 10,000K of VM.

now w/ this new ver of aim, aim.exe takes up 32,576 kB
