Before submitting a complaint about AIM+ misbehaving
I would like to make a request of those who want to report that AIM+ is causing a problem with their AOL Instant Messenger (AIM).
Please try and run AIM without AIM+ and see if the problem persists before posting a message saying that AIM+ is causing something to happen.
An example is the now famously complained about C++ error. A few people stated that they ran AIM without AIM+ and was still getting the error.
If you are running AIM without AIM+ and are still experiencing the problem, then most likely AIM+ isn't your problem.
If you don't know how to run AIM without AIM+, simply go to Start->Programs->AOL Instant Messenger and execute AIM.

Yes, but it is now off my chest.....lol
I spent many years beta testing software and hardware. First rule of thumb of testing is when you find a bug, back out any changes made since it was last stable and see if it is still there. If it goes away, then the change probably is a culprit.
If AIM breaks without AIM+, then AIM+ isn't to blame.

The "Runtime Error" crash is definitely caused by AIM+
1.) Sign on with AIM+.
2.) Send a bunch of messages in an IM or chat. The crash occurs.
3.) Sign on *without* AIM+.
4.) Send a bunch of messages in an IM or chat. The crash does NOT occur.

I forgot to update this message. One of our mods, I think DADINK had determined the C++ error was indeed related to AIM+.
But I guess my point, in general, was to please determine if the problem occurs with just AIM running before jumping to the conclusion that AIM+ is the culprit.
