aim modifications

Post by shawnrobts »

does anyone know how which file in aim contains the string for the "your away message is on" thing. i want to try to modify that to say something else, or better yet, just get rid of it entirely. i don't know why, but i find it annoying and pointless. if i put the away message up....i think i'd know that i was away. but anyway, please help me if you can. thanks.

I believe this is in the AimRes.dll file, under the string table.

ok, but i've played with the aimres.dll file before so i could change a few more things with my aim. there is about 50+ strings in that thing. does anyone happen to know exactly what string or what file?

thanks jester! i finally got rid of that annoying little message. i don't know why it was a pet peeve of mine, but it was. just out of curiousity though...how did you ever find that string? i looked forever and had no luck. however, i was looking in all the wrong places.
