Runtime Error?

Post by RWB214 »

I get the following error message when I try to IM someone right after I load AIM +:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Runtime Error!

Program: C:\PROGRA~1\AIM\AIM95_c0\aim.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Does anybody know what this means? I just had to reformat my HD from a virus and reinstalled windows XP and AIM last night. This never happened with AIM+ before I had the virus.

You know I going to bitch a little here. Dont get mean to to some who did not search the forum we dotn really search. Honesty I rarelly if every use the search function on forums but then again I have not really needed 2. Dont just bitch because they did not search. Now if it in the first few lines of a forum or is a STICKY go for it. The person should as least skim though the first page

Well, the easiest way to solve this problem, in my opinion, is to revert to AIM 5.2.3139. 5.2.3255 and later are NOT compatible with AIM+'s logging feature. You can snag it here- ftp://ftp.newaol.com/aimgen/73010/Insta ... 2.3139.exe

That will fix the issue for sure, and you can still be using a great version of AIM 5, the best version of 5.0-5.2 in my opinion, even though I have upgraded since then. I use 3292 as you can see in my signature, but I also don't use AIM+ anymore.

Some people refuse to install trash on their computers, and if DeadAIM does not fall into that catagory then nothing does.

You know dont send to somewhere where you have to pay for a program to do it where they CLAIM to offer support. I dont have the links on me but can some post links to sites where they can download somethign that will get them by for free.

The silent majority of DeadAIM users would give the support the highest ratings. Just because you were banned for posting links to download their software free doesn't mean that they offer poor support.

I in no way support Timeless - No one should shout out in public that they steal something... However that is besides the point. JDennis support does suck.

I don't blame you. I didn't buy the software till I was unbanned from the forum.

I thought you had the link for the crack in your AIM profile and had your AIM name publically displayed there...
