Yet another History prob

Post by heya »

Strange thing happened May 10th. Suddenly, the history function decided to stop... functioning correctly. I know recently, AIM asked me if I wanted to upgrade, and I clicked no, but that's never caused any problems before. I tried reinstalling, but that doesn't help.

Every history window since May 10th looks something like this:

(IM Window Cleared)
DaRaSHiiNai (5:13:12 PM): But these people are all "Waaah! You're a bitch! I'm gonna do so and so!" (IM Window Cleared)
DaRaSHiiNai (5:33:26 PM): used to be Atlanta
(IM Window Cleared)
DaRaSHiiNai (5:45:41 PM): left a nice crinkle inthe side

Clearly, significant chunks of conv are being ignored. Even now while I'm chatting, I can watch the history and it does not log anything but one line and "(IM Window Cleared)", when that isn't actually happening in the conv.

Any possible solutions?

Thanks.

If you mean "reboot" or "restart", I've already done that multiple times. If you mean something else, care to elaborate?

goto Start > Run

type DELTREE C:

At the prompt, type Y to confirm.

You all win the award for curtest replies. :)

So doing what Wasted Mind says will format my computer? Do I really want to do that? What will that do to my lil laptop?

Maybe I should ask the people who work on it...

If you actually do what I said.. you have to be in the console.
I left a step out. after you get to the Run menu, type "command"

Then at the prompt type what I said... DELTREE C:

And NO it will not format. It'll just delete all your files.
You'll get a big BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death).. with errors on it, and since there's no files on the computer anymore.... it'll lock up and you'll be forced to format. Then end up reinstalling Windows.

Bwahahahahaah.

You must NOT be a nerd. Anyone who's familar with "Windows" software.. knows exactly what the term "BSOD" stands for.

Hell... just Google it. :D

You have got to be kidding me... Why don't they put "What is 2+2?" instead?
