Logs have multiple <BODY> and <HTML> tags

Post by overbored »

I know you can't see any difference in MSIE, but I use Opera (great browser) and the bad HTML in the logs make them look screwed up. They have multiple <BODY> and <HTML> tags (there should only be one). Additionally, there is no <BR> between different log sessions (where there's a commented timestamp). I don't think it would be too hard of a problem to strip off these common and redundant tags. Thanks for hearing me in.

thats what AOL does. Did you ever look at the source in your IM windows? Its horrible, they rewrote the rules of HTML.

Yes, it's true, this is what AIM's messages look like. I beleive if you choose File|SaveAs in an IM window you'll get the same type of output.

I didn't know Opera wouldn't display them right.. rather odd.

Anyway, the Histories and History Viewer are going to be overhauled fairly soon, this may change, or become irrelavant, but it is really too early to say right now :).
