Odd emails

LAtely I have been receiving blank emails that seem to orginate from big-o-software. Here is the message source.

Perhaps they "notify me when a reply is posted" function is broken since I have not recieved any lately. However, I no longer choose that option when I post, I still get them for some old popular topics.

I've actually been receiving these as well, recently..

I thought that the mailserver was being abused somehow.. SPAM, virus, something.. So I went and tightened up its security quite a bit. Then I sent a few test messages - they went into the mail server as normal emails and came out those blank pieces of junk we've been seeing.

It would seem the mail server's software had just fallen apart after a few weeks of constant uptime. Restarting it seemed to fix the problem, but I also upgraded it to the latest version, just in case that helps.

So, your guess sounds dead-on - the blank mails you received were probably supposed to be board notifies from old posts.

Sorry about this, and thanks for letting me know - I hope it doesn't happen again.
