Using reshack, open up AimRes.dll and go to dialog 323...right click on the boxes on the top and click "delete resource". You need to delete the top bar and then the box below it...when you delete the box, there will be another one underneath it, so delete that one too. In total, you are deleting 3 things.

Oops, thanks for pointing that out...right click and "delete CONTROL", not resource.

Once you've deleted part of a .dll file, is there anyway to get it running again if you know what you took out?

What version of AIM are you running? I have some original aimres.dll files for a few versions.

Not quite that easy, I'm afraid. I originally took part out in Notepad or Wordpad, causing it to stop working. Now, I know more about .dll files, and have ResHack, but I can't figure out how to get it working. I know what I took out and I know where, but it still won't work... Anyone have ideas?

What part did you take out, and where? What version of AIM are you running?...I'm going out for the night so I might not get back with you until tomorrow, but go ahead and post all the info you can :)

Never mind, I just reinstalled AIM, and now it works like it should. Thanks though.
