when it comes to file transfer, it doesnt really matter on processor speed, but only initially..... only to interpret the initial command of what files to send.
Limit your gonna be at is the network speed.
Like, if you requested 3 text files, the server would have to interpret each request and figure out which file to give ya for each request..... BUT if you put those files in a zip, the filesize would be bigger, but the comp would only have to 'work' out which to use once, instead of three times.

no I dont have windows ME installed but I had to run on it for 2 years. Now as for old ram I have a 133 p1 Pactiball with 2 gig hard drive and 90 megs of ram
