thursday wrote:For anyone who can't wait for the next version of AIM+ to be compatible with AIM 5.x, I have created a patched AimRes.dll which will work for the latest public version of aim. It has the adspace removed and a customized away dialog (put your away msg on and you'll see).
Close aim, goto your aim dir and rename AimRes.dll to something like AimRes.dll.bak and download this into the same folder http:// www.kraproom.com/kylan/files/AimRes.dll

Re: repost: patched AimRes.dll for 5.0
Hmm...that's not that bad of an idea...but I think I speak for just about everyone else when I say that I'll wait for AIM+. Why? Because I'm a damned loyalist!!
Alright, people trying to get the above file are going to get a 404. In order to make this easier on myself, you guys, and bandwidth I am uploading a different file which is only 8.5k as opposed to 1.16MB. This is just a patcher which someone else made which does the same thing my dll did, except all windows within AIM will remain the same (except the buddy list of course, which will have the ads and adspace removed) and no captions, etc. will be changed. Just unzip and run this file from your AIM directory and all will be well (make sure you have aim closed before running it so the dlls arent in use).
