Are Away Messages stored in a copyable file?

I went through my friend's registry and changed all the away messages to "I'm looking at internet pornography right now. I'll talk to you when I'm done jacking off." He wasn't amused, but i was, heh.
Puns don't kill people. People kill people... usually with guns, knives, or something else physically threatening... puns just don't quite cut it... unlike knives, which cut a lot of things...

other file
last year sometime (before i had win XP... i think it was either ME or 98 i was using), i was looking through all kinds of crap and i found a file that included my buddylist names and away messages and other stuff for more than just AIM..... im not sure on this, but i think it was the"user.dat" file thats on every account directory on a computer. Its not there anymore FOR ME... maybe just because im running Xp, or maybe its version 4.8 of AIM, but if yall wanna go check into it, lemme know wat ya find.
user.dat is your registery. In 2k and presumeably XP, it is in Documents And Settings\*username*\ntuser.dat, but you'll always want to edit it in regedit anyways.
