You must not be up-to-date on Macs. Mac OS X is an open-source software, just like Unix and Linux. Macs also use PC-compatible hardware, such as USB, PCI bus, PC RAM, and GeForce graphics chipsets.
Besides, WastedMind, don't you use Windows 2000? That's about as closed-source as you can possibly get.

Last I checked MAC is not open source. I looked on
http://www.sourceforge.net and it is not there. I looked on the
http://www.apple.com/macosx/ and its not there either. I dont know where you get the idea that MAC OS X is an open source OS. I might not know much about internal hardware for MAC's, but you might be right about the hardware part. The OS is just an OS, it shouldnt matter what hardware...
And as for the other comment, I used to run Windows2000 until I think I either got a virus or got SP3, and it went downhill, so now Im back on my Win98SE.
But at least it works. But I will soon be getting away from M$ very soon. I got me Mandrake Linux 9.
