Me too. I just thought it was my connection to the internet. Many sites have been slower for me (i.e. www.usatoday.com)

The last two nights MySQL has been pretty overloaded during the peak evening hours, and has returned to normal when the number of visitors to the website has died down a bit. If the website continues to falter, we'll have to restart MySQL and hope that it fixes some of the speed issues.

Well, it seems a bit faster now, but a few hours ago, MySQL was screaming in agony. I kept seeing that familiar "Critical Error" saying that phpBB couldn't connect to the database. I thought to myself "MySQL is gonna have a <bleep> heart-attack one of these days."

I just hope that doesn't happen to my site--I don't know how to fix it if it does.. :-?

It was actually acting up again for at least a little while tonight :(. It seems to be recovering nicely right now, though ...

There has been a definite increase in site traffic over the last week or so, and it seems to be overloading MySQL at times. Hopefully there won't be any major downtime as a result of MySQL crashing its socks off again.

Right now it's 9:10pm EST, and the forums are unusually slow. It's taking roughly 15 seconds to load a page from clicking a link.

I swear I feel like I'm on Dial Up! (and I have cable!!) :-?
