Alright, I'm using AIM 5.1.3036...and before you're signed on completely, this window pops up...and it's really annoying. And, I don't see a setting to disable it completely.

Help? :-?

(Oh yeah, and thanks. :P )

I feed it bogus information to get it to go away

If that's the only option, okly dokly. If not, then I'd sure like to hear it. Pretty stupid, but it is their software.

Bryan,

I couldn't get that darn thing to go away. I kept telling it to 'cancel' and it would warn me that I'd be losing out on some great features. Then it would crash and never log in. The next time you logged in, it came back. I even did it wil AIM+ turned off and I couldn't get the darn thing to go away.

Leave it to AOL to give you an opt-out option that doesn't work or crashes the application.

I did like Timelessblur and fed it bogus data to go away

Weird...

I'm not going to get a new screenname, that's for sure.

My screenname is registered, of course...yet it keeps coming up. Bogus data it is. :)

Hmm I don't remember if I've ever got that one or not. If I did I probably just typed in some jibberish to be done with it. That's what I tend to do with stuff like that.

I got in when I upgraded to AIM 5.x (forget the exact version). It's basically a place to sign up for a Netscape email account.

u get the screen only when you sign on with a SN that you have never signed on to from that computer before........

when i get it, i just simply click the X on the first screen, then another pops up and i just hit the 'cancel anyways' button at the bottom left...... then it never bothers me again for that particular SN

It happens to me every time until I lie to it.

I think i firgure it out. It only goes after Unconferted screen names. That is way it came up only when I made new screen names. So if you screen name went though all the right hopes when you orginally made it a long long time ago and you replayed to that damn email AOL sent you that never will come up. Or you just feed it bogus info.

(well the info I fed it was not all bogus. I did give them one of my real email addresses. It just the is the email address I uses for crap that I dont really want to deal with but it is real. it is Dark_knight119@hotmail.com)

No, because I confirmed my screen name a long time ago, and it still came up.

Yea, because I always confirm my screen names but yet it still pops up when i'm at my grandparents house or somewhere other than my house. Maybe AOL and Netscape like nagging people because they think it's fun?
