cant get software for my mp3 player

i lost the software for my mp3 player and have tryed to download software for it but when i download it and install it it will say no divice connected or somthing but i look at it and the computer will say it is connected but the software wont pick it up and i cant find the right download. what should i do?[/b]

First, what kind of MP3 player do you have. Also, which OS do you have. Has this worked before on the same OS or were you upgrading operating systems? Sometimes if you have an old MP3 player that was put out before Windows XP (if thats the OS you have), the drivers won't work correctly. Even if you have Windows ME...the drivers may not work. We can not help you without more information.
