ok, lets clear up a few thigns here....
1) anthony knows you = rokbas
2) google doesnt work like that. By submitting your site to google, your just telling it to go look at your site. Which it has in fact already done. If you saw your site on page three, then i garuntee you that your on google's database already.
The way you move up in rank on google is simply having the best content for the keyword searched.
may sound simple, but this is why google is so good at what it does. It doesnt work by people submitting to it. Rather, it looks around your site and indexes what you have as content and remembers it. And when people ask for something on it, it cross references your page with their criteria and gives them the results.
Now i know your asking this..... why do other sites that have pretty much the same content have a higher rank than yours.
Another key feature of google.... it looks at the links to that website FROM other websites and ranks it accordingly. So lets go through a scenario here really quick....
lets say there are two sites.
www.whatever.com anf
www.however.com
(these are examples, i have no clue whats actually on these sites)
Now on these sites would be information on the best time of the year to grow your eggplants in Nigeria.
If you did a google search with that criteria, you would get maybe
www.however.com on the TOP of the list, but you would get
www.whatever. about 4 pages later. Even though they offer the exact same content.
But lets do this..... lets make
www.however.com put a link to
www.whatever.com on its main page.
Now the nexzt time google sends its spiders out, it sees that link and thinks this:
"hmm, well since this incredibly popular site (
www.however.com) has a link to
www.whatever.com, then whatever.com must be a good site too. Ill go ahead and move it up in ranks!"
So now next time you do a search with the same criteria, you will still get
www.however.com at the top of the list, BUT
www.whatever.com wont be sso far down anymore.... hell you could go a lot farther up on the list.
so yes..... that is your googlebot lesson for the day. sorry.... ya got me goin
