It could be a "paint" problem. A few seconds after the programs load, try moving your taskbar around a bit and see if they appear. The system tray might not be receiving the operating system command to redraw itself when the icon is added. Moving the taskbar to another spot will force it ...

I don't really have any problems with XP... Everything works fine after I installed a bunch of patches, and most of the stuff worked fine before those...

That happened to me when I first installed XP. But that hasn't happened in the longest time... I'm not sure what fixed it. I do install all their patches...

Um, if those two pages were supposed to give pop-up ads I didn't get any.... I use Adshield. http://www.adshield.org I highly recommend it. However, it only works in IE. OR instead of looking in Temp folder, just look at the source code and search for ".swf" (sans quotes). Type that link into your browser and voila. Then just use File | Save as...

That's how I've done it in the past.

Yea, Win95 used to do that to me too, whenever I tried to install anything that was not a download... Even MS Word....... So, I just popped in the Win95 disk, it said it read something (I forget if it copied something).
