Personally, I'd love to see it forced on the people who type so bad you don't have a CLUE what they're saying while typing to you.... Anyone know how irritating that is? "he yohw ru?" "Um...what?" "onohting." Ooooookay. It makes it a bit difficult to have a conversation...

Couldn't it just do how AOL does it, "ghosting", or blocking everyone from buddy list? AOL doesn't TECHNICALLY have an invisibility option, but you can prevent people from seeing you on their buddy list.
I've used both AIM and AOL to tell if people blocked me or not
