You can, however, make a gigantic image (for example, 2048x768) that will stretch across both monitors. (I think you can, anyway.)

Using a system as root opens up a whole lot of security holes and flaws, as well as making it very simple to accidentally make mistakes, not to mention screw up file permissions without even doing anything or knowing. Bad idea.

Well, I can see that. I just burn all my backed-up install files to CD's, and I keep my MP3s on CD's (and soon my iPod, when it arrives tomorrow :) ). I always forget that most people have big hard drives and leave everything on there.
