With bare Aim, I was able to manually edit the notepad version of my profile. This allowed me to have a profile with no character limits. However it seems now when I edit my profile this way the changes are not recognized by aim+????

sometimes AIM+ doesn't allow me to edit the profile, and i have to restart the program in order to do so. fixes?

There's something called an AMPed Profile, which does this (the mp3 one.) It can be found here: http://amped.unrealnetworks.com/

it works like a subprofile, which we all know is wicked lame, so if you could eliminate the middleman, that's be cool.

.. why not make aim+ support more of windows NT based (NT4/2000/XP) by keeping history in user's profile other then C:\Program Files\AIM+\history

were missing the topic of the original post. but while were at it, I wish AOL stored my profile on the server with my buddy list. This only makes sense. If people are wise they could tell what machine I am accessing aim from.

... having many screennames and having different buddy lists on each.. but here's an idea that'll allow you to do it using 1 screenname. When I say profile.. I don't mean the User Info.. I mean like.. Buddylist and Options. My idea is.. with AIM+ when you login.. instead of having just "Screenname" ...

any idea what url aim calls to get the profile? maybe aimplus can autorefresh to another page based on certain tags? like.. if the page contains <a href="http://www.subprofile.com/name=%n" target="_self">AIM+ Subprofile</a> ...

and even the ability to have it change each time someone signs on. kinda like a sub profile but in accaule profile

Maybe add a history for profiles? Everytime you look at someone's profile and it is different, it saves a new copy... I think you get the picture

... so many characters to fit in between the header and footer of the command string sent to aol. all strings are limited to this amount, not just the profile. For example..if you paste a long string into the message window it says you have exceeded 1024 characters. aim does not accept the long strings

I beleive icons are on the server with your profile.

as far as I know, AIM uploads the info.htm file to their server when you start AIM. If you update your profile, it updates both your local version and the server version. A simple test is to modify your info.htm while AIM is running and see if your profile changes. It does not.
