here's how

You have two options to do this:

1) click on the plus icon in the lower right hand corner of the AIM window (with the buddy list) and then select AIM+ preferences
2) or click in the top left corner of the window and select AIM+ preferences.

It's as easy as that. Should work.

... happen to you. If you are not running WinXP with the latest AIM beta, then when you sign off the AIM icon will remain in the system tray. Double click this AIM icon to sign back on, don't try to start AIM back up, because this will result in a clone.

... would be easy enough to add an option allowing AIM+ to create clones ... but is it really necessary? If you want to open a second IE window, you click on IE. If you want to open a second AIM, click on AIM+ (like you did to open the first one!). It just makes sense :).

ok im running windows xp
ive got version 4.8.2646 of aim...
when ive got one instance of aim running and then click on aim+ icon it starts the copying thing then it gives me an error message
"Failed trying to clone AIM (copy file failed)."
