Video CDs (VCDs) use MPEG-1 video. They can be burnt pretty easily with either Adaptec Easy CD Creator or Nero. MPEG-1 is the format used for videos with the (.mpg) extension, the type of mpeg's you download from the internet. Nero can definitely convert MPEGs to the proper bitrate for a VideoCD, bu...

Re: check the integrity of the rar's then create the sfv
It would be nice if, upon scanning directories and finding a folder full of rar's and no sfv file, it would, optionally, check the integrity of the rar's then create the sfv. That would be SO cool. Nice program btw. I think that what he is asking for, is to have hkSFV create SFV's for folders where...

DVD-R Media
Although I can't really afford it, I've been thinking that the time has come for me to step up to DVD-R backups. The time spent burning CD-R's (even with a fast drive), and the sheer volume of burnt CD-R discs has become beyond outrageous. Anybody have a DVD-R drive, and have any thoughts about the ...

I did have to make a change to the code to support 32bit icons in the file list (there are actually 2 different resources used - ICONs for the file list, and BMPs for the menus). Furthermore, (and I hope you won't mind -- please let us know if you do) I have gone ahead and added your bitmaps to hkSF...

I tried checking some files located on CD-R's, and I do see the progress meter go up as the file is checked. Is anybody else experiencing this? Could you give me any more information about your system setup (especially the OS you're running), or any other info might help me to reproduce this problem..

Unfortunately, while ';' is a valid character in a windows filename, the SFV format uses the semi-colon as a special character which marks the start of a comment. I cannot think of a way that hkSFV can support semi-colons in filenames and still remain compliant with the standard SFV format (and ther...
