Actually, you can get a person's phone number, address, and more on the internet without knowing the person... it does not take much effort. I won't go into the details though, because I do not want to fuel this problem.
yes i do know that but to get some info you would probably need an sn or something that signed up for and you dont just come up wit stuff like that, know what i mean? cause i dont want to get into details either
Yeah I know what you mean... The bottom line is that Big O has provided us with a wonderful product and asked for nothing in return. To do that they (probably inadvertently) placed personal information in public records, and now some ingrate has taken advantage of that and has ruined the fun for everyone.

If it's AIM, block or change SNs or whatever. If the people harassing them don't even have their phone #, i don't see what they're worried about.
It seems that we could speculate for the next 10 years about what did, or did not happen--I have read a lot of interesting hypotheses. I think it is time Mark and Ryan try to fill us in on as much as they can. Has anyone seen anything from them today about a possible chat??

There is a simple way to know if someone has posted recently... Go to that person's profile and click "view all posts by this user" (or something along those lines).

hell with the haters

Post by x17hellfire »

hell with them, if they don't want AIM+ 3.0 to be out, then just tell them not to use it. i say just go for it. if they try to stop u, go to a underground site. if ppl can put porn and other shit on the net, something like this should be simple, heck they put NETBUS7.0 out... why can't u do this?

Hmm lets see...

If they said they changed their mind and will release Version 3.0 you people would still find a reason to be mad.

If they never let Version 3.0 out you will complaine.

If they say they dont like the users of the program (we know this is NOT the case) you would complaine.

If they say... wait your complaine if they said they are going to release the program, give you the source, and pay you for having to wait

I really think all the peple that come here with one or two posts (i shouldn't talk, but i'm going to) who think they're they only ones that have said "screw theses people... release it anyway, e-mail it to me thxbye!!!~~~" need to shut up.

This is serious. You know what? There might not be harassment. It could be something COMPLETLEY diffrent. The main thing here is that BIG-O DOES NOT OWE YOU A THING. If you can't deal with that, then please, click on something else, maybe your Extreme IM that you need to pay for, or your DeadIM that edits your executible.

You people seem to think that because they said they were going to release it, they've signed some sort of contract with you, obligating them to live up to their typed words. Thats not how it works, and it's sad to see that you people don't know that...

Oh, and really, if you put your e-mail on here and ask for them to send it to you...do you really think they're going to do that?

hypothesis

Post by iamnafets »

dunno if anyone's said this yet but here's my hypothesis rather than a compliment or flame.:

death threats....something to the effect of if you release aim+ 3 we'll kill you or blackmail or something"

maybe a little over the wall but it was mentioned to be SEVERE ENOUGH TO CANCEL DEVELOPMENT or something to the effect. :(

death threats... hackers... etc...
it's all a scam... Big-o turned its back on us users
and they wont even admit it, and neither will some of you...
if the sql server was down then why was Matt's page (I think that's who's
page it was...) was working fine??? why were we still able to d/l
AIM+ 2.*???
Ive head a lot of people talking in other forums about how the
error messages were faked and werent even written correctly...
If they had a version of 3.0 they'd release it, the excuses are bs...
if development was stopped for any real reason, they'd release whatever
version they have and the source code... but they havnt...
all they did is leave us w/ a bs excuse and a bunch of lies...

is it possible for us to at least get a list of some of the things that *were* in aim+ 3.0? we never got a list of features it was supposed to have...

you're a moron...just because sql goes down doesn't mean they lost internet connection...it means their database of crap and all the software necessary to display the page has crashed...this is very common in mySql as it is not intended for massive amounts of traffic at the same time...however the bandwidth is still there, hence the reason it was still possible to download aim+2.0
