I personally like Windows Media Player. I don't even have Real player installed. I never will have it installed.

If I want videos..I try to use Quicktime if I can, if not then WMP..if it's Real Player.. then I dont care to watch it.

Real Player has been very buggy for me, every version...
But time flows like a river...
And history repeats...

I don't like the fact that you have to pay to use RealOne. If you want the features that WMP9 has, you have to pay. Also, whats real annoying, is that stupid MessageBox that comes up. I hate pop-ups!!!

Recent versions of either are both bloatware and won't be found anywhere on a computer that I own. I have WMP 6.4 with all updated codecs. It plays my divx perfectly and faster than anything else I've ever tried. There's no need for all that extra garbage. I have an old version of Realplayer but seeing as I only use it to test video streams that I setup for client websites... I have no idea what version it is, but it is the same thing, old (and stable) with updated codecs. RealOne is annoying and I hate it lol.
