Best Joystick for Flight Sims??
Anyone have an opinion on the best joystick for Flight Sims?
I have an old Microsoft Sidewinder joystick that connects via a serial port and I’m thinking about upgrading to something with a USB connection--possibly wireless--and am also considering joysticks with Force Feedback.
Any recommendations?

I wise I could help you on that but you post made me think of my old joy stick because that is the one I had for my other computer. It was great. The only problem is my new computer does not have a comport for it. I love playing Tie Fighter and I 2 would like to know of a good joy stick because I been wanting to get one for my new computer and play Tie fighter again

I would say from experience this joystick is the best.

M$ Sidewinder Force Feedback 2.
If your looking for Force Feedback in a game, you must get this joystick. The amount the joystick actually tugs around on your arm is amazing. If you take a nosedive in your plane because your engines stall, your going to feel it. If you run off the road in the racing game.. it's crazy. It feels like a real car (and I know about that too).
Gamespot only gave it a 7.2 but I think it deserves at least an 8.

I had a Precision 2 for a while and I hated it. It felt too flimsy. I can drop my 3D Pro and it would still work great. My friend dropped his original MS Force Feedback joystick and the handle broke.x Wasted Mind x wrote:M$ Sidewinder Force Feedback 2.
There's a joystick I remember seeing in CompUSA, but I can't remember the name of it. It was a flight controller/throttle combination. Felt very good in my hands when I was trying it out. I think it's made by Thrustmaster--I can't really remember.

Thanks for your responses everyone. The MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 looks great. Price is really not an issue for me since I'm a huge fan of flight sims and am looking for something that will last a while.
Is anyone a fan of the Logitech joysticks? I had one several years ago for about a day--up until the point where it cracked in half. . . . . .
