With aim 4.8, alerts server problem

Not sure if this is an aim+ or aim bug, but
i upgraded to aim 4.8 and now several minutes after i sign on i get a message that im not connected to the alerts server.

aim+ 2.2.1 build 65, win2000

i get that all the time, i thnik it has to deal with AOL/AIM server. it says it cant alert or use email or something like that. i get that with new AIM not new AIM+
