DeadAIM 4.0 released!

1. go to neowin.net
2. enter their forums.
3. go to the forum "back page news"
4. follow the link in the first post
5. get deadaim 4.0

unfortunately it seems that jdennis has added some sort of copy protection and requires that you enter a serial number. also, rumor has it that each legal download can only be installed 5 times. how this is enforced is currently unknown. some believe that each time you enter the serial, it links to jdennis to verify. for that reason a simple keygen won't work, and a cracked .exe is necessary...

Don't worry... He can't lock this topic

... But really... The amount of threads that get locked over there is just insane... Granted some of them should be locked... But not just because you don't like what people have to say...

I agree with you the amont of threads that do get lock over there is to many. Some threads need to lock but a lot of the threads that get lock are the threads that disagree with creitor of the program or anything that states major bugs in it they claim are not there.........

there is one thing I am curios about though. I want to know how the message you while you are a way works. Because I know it is not running like the Mac verson of it. My quetion is Does it put you away message right back up after you take it down or what.

If your talking about 'Messaging while Away' -- I have no idea really.
I know that it does work though because GAIM for Linux does it too.

It just keeps your Away Message up, but allows you to keep talking to people... rather nice feature.

it a feature I have always wanted. It just seems only the windows versons of it can not do it. if I can find a program that does it like the mac verson I would be willing to pay for it but I know DeadAIM does not do it like hte mac verson so hence it is not worth it

AIM has to tell the server when you go away and when you come back. Normally when you send a message while you're away, AIM tells the server that you're back. DeadAIM probably just intercepts that message to the server.

I think I like how DeadAIM is starting to come out. They could use some better support in their forums though.

yeah i also like how its comin out too but since im 16 i cant buy it b/c of no credit card n my parents wont let me use theres for this stupid thing b/c its not one of those big trust worthy companies n its something they would say is "stupid" so i prolly wont be able to get it to test it out or anything.
