You can gain the feeling of security. Knowing that if someone were to intercept your communications with another person, and try to do something with it... it would be encrypted, so it'll be Hell of a lot harder for them, if not impossible.Sweeney wrote:Didn't work for me, either. It gave me an error that said "Importing failed for unknown reasons." Not that I would really gain anything from encrypting my conversations, anyway. Who would?
that error usually means that you didnt type in a pass when importing it on aim or u typed the password wrong (the 2nd time, the single blank one). I get this errorSweeney wrote:Didn't work for me, either. It gave me an error that said "Importing failed for unknown reasons." Importing a certificate failed because the issuer is not included in the certificate.
Lmao, I have conversations that no one would understand...literally. My conversations are encrypted before I type them. I talk about llamas, oranges, food, and such. Now, maybe if I was some sort of top secret general, giving the launch codes...I wouldn't use AIM.x Wasted Mind x wrote: You can gain the feeling of security. Anything can have spyware if you know how to do it right. I got my cert before that site was up anyway. Go to www.thawte.com ... It's a pain, but its a completely unique cert, unlike the one you would get from aimencrypt.com.AIMAwayMessages wrote:Ummmm, No. How could a security certificate have spyware

despite the fact that 1) most AIM addons log anyway 2) encryption wont do anything for local logging and 3) if your computer is privvy to anyone reading your convos, should you really be having something so tip top secret on it?eyeareque wrote:Programs like this scare me:

Cryptography gives me a better sense that my communitcaion is not being intercepted.
