aim download

Post by nmrim »

my (ancient) computer has been littered with many computer games among other useless nonsense causing it to suck (thanks to the fam) so i've decided to format my computer. this will force me to redownload aim and aim+. the thing is...i'm not keen on change....i'd rather stick with the aim version 4.7.2480. my question is..where can i get this version?

it probably wont fit on a floppy being about 5 megs. save it to a cd. i dont think just putting the aim95 folder back into another computer's program files dir will always work. it works for me, but a while back, i had problems. if u want to keep ur seetting for aim, like away messages, download directories, view settings, fonts and junk like that and transfer it to another computer u can just export the regestry.
in RUN type "regedit"
and look for
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\America Online\AOL Instant Messenger (TM)\CurrentVersion

and export the folder.
