I believe profiles are stored online remporarily as well. Your profile becomes the original screen name's profile.

I'm glad you posted this. Normally when I use AIM 4.8, I don't see when my buddies go 'mobile', only when they are actually online. Now, I see they are mobile. I started noticing this 2 or 3 days ago, and I'm pretty sure this has to do with this new AIM feature.

I don't know if I like this. Well I guess I won't be knocking my self offline any more by accident... Further more I won't be knocking my self off on purpose.

The only real benefit of this feature would be if you could have 2 different buddy lists, sign on twice, and have twice the buddy list capacity. But I'm not sure that's possible since AIM stores buddy lists on their side. Or is that possible? hmmmmmm...................... :-?

I doubt it....it just sounds like you will have everything the same.

This could be very bad when someone cracks a pw. I mean if you sign on to someone elses acct to which you know the pw.....whats going to happen? You can stay on that acct all day and the person owning it cant do anything about it?

Not good. Will AIM notify you if you sign on to the same screenname twice? ( I know that using AOL and AIM it will, at least it did until a few days ago). If AIM doesn't notify you, then someone else could eavesdrop on your conversations (although they'd only get the person you are talking to...a sort of half convo).

Okay in the small amount of time I spent looking at this...

1) AIM does NOT tell you when another SN logs on
2) The buddy lists are seprate (Same computer same SN orginal BL (New BL))
3) According to that news article the profiles are diffrent. I didn't have time to check this out

The article says they "switched on" this feature...does that mean it works now? No upgrade required?

That sucks. I'll have to add the feature to Paradigm to log off remotely now I guess.
