How Does hkSFV Verify Checksums without Comparisons?

Post by aurelius »

Hi

I think something was missing from the FAQ_Feature Guide in that nothing really explains how the program does its job. Just a few sentences would help - nothing complex or time consuming.

All the other MD5 utilities require you to compare the checked sum with a text checksum original from the source/mirror website. hkSFV seems to magically check all ISO's in a folder and give them OK. But a few words about how this 'OK' is done without referring to a text MD5 checksum file from the source web directory would be useful!

How else can a user be confident the programme is actually doing what they expect?

;)
