Yeah, it's been over a month...I've never heard of an update taking that long to put in place.

Well it has nothing to do with updating things... They did this on purpose. There would be no logical reason to take down the front page and have the rest of the site running fine (even though you apparently think the entire site is down...).
It's not like it takes more then 5 seconds to upload new pages...
