but just from basic thinking, maybe ya gotta extract the viewer from the same directory that AIM+ is in?

i dunno
No. It gets the AIM+ path from the registry.

hkey_current_user\software\big-o\aim+
(defaullt) = Path to AIM+

Timeless, check to make sure you have that key in your registry and it specifies the correct path to AIM+. Also make sure they key type is REG_SZ and not REG_EXPAND_SZ (it shouldn't be this, but it might be).

Also, the self-extractor uses the windows scripting host to read from the registry (the viewer uses API). You'll need to have windows scripting host present on your machine. Some anti-virus programs will prevent other programs from accessing the registry using WSH. So I guess I'll add my registry access module to the installer, which will increase the size of the download yet again...

Ok...that's weird. You shouldn't have that problem. I'll check it out later. For the time being, I'll send you the viewer in a ZIP file. Just extract it to your AIM+ directory.

I'm getting something too. I'm not getting a message, but I get the sound like there was a program error. It just doesn't load period. However, it runs the first time after it was installed, just not again.

...I think you broke something..

Do you have the last release before this new one on your computer still? I overwrote the old one when I downloaded the new zip...and I wouldn't mind having my history viewer working again.. :-?

Walker, are you using the lastest AIM beta?

I think I figured out the problem. I had the latest AIM beta. It wasn't working, but now I put back on AIM 5.2.3139, and it works. I think that beta has something to do with it not working right.
