yes u can run aim, and aol at the same time, with the new version of aim, i dont think u can do it with previous version of aim, be4 version 4.4. but when ut chatting with aol, and aim, its best to use aim to talk. to let aim be the default to accept all messages, u have to put an away message on the aol sn.

You do need to install AIM and use it, to enjoy the benefits of AIM+.

AIM+ won't do anything with AOL, for good or bad, so it doesn't care whether you have AOL or not. And you can use AIM just fine alongside AOL (many, many people do).
