I really like this idea, but I think most of the people I would use this with, don't even understand the point of being idle and would IM anyway. But what the heck, add the feature, I'd find uses for it.Big-O Mark wrote:

I disagree. Out of all the features I'd like to see most in AIM+, logging and this idle thing are the top 2 (and logging is already implemented, of course). I much prefer being idle to being away. Away means you might be at your computer but just don't want to talk, yet people still blitz you with messages. Idle...well, when you are idle, it's pretty clear you are not at your computer. Back when I first got AIM I remember I never used away messages, I'd just go idle. It would be great to manually do that again, I think.t0ne wrote:i mean i dont think that idle thing would be so great i mean maybe sometimes it could be nice to use but its not like a must-have feature...anyone agree with me?
this is just for fun but have some fun
make a "switch" to turn you off and on, on idle, and peopel will say wtf man.
its leik a Screen Name Formatter thats moves your letters up and down like instantly(cant do it long, rate limiting )
but i dont think there is a limit to it. though i tried it the manualy way, maybe if it(aim+) does it faster, it will blink

I think this would be a good feature if you are at your computer, but busy, and reallie don't want to be bothered. I usually have my AIM up when I am doing papers or assignment and whatnot, and when your away message says "doing work" people think that means "talk to me, I don't need to get anything important done". If you could set your buddy list to idle, then no one would bother you.
