For the record. I'm getting this also.

Windows XP Pro
AIM 5.1.3036 (Fresh today)
Last version of AIM+
Downloaded the version of the viewer on your website.
Even Activated it by following your directions.

It work the very first time. Now it won't. I have all the common controls. I did not replace the ones that had different versions. (Mine were all dated later dates) but I also believe WinXP will not let me replace those, since it will automatcilay replace them with the one's I just copied over)

edit:
I bit the bullet and copied the common controls on your webpage over the one's that XP came with. Still the program error noise.

Help?

Well, that has seemed to fix it. Has that been mentioned before, I read the last 4 pages of replies.

Make sure AIM+ is running. Stop and exit all instances of AIM, and start AIM+ from it's icon on the start menu.

If you don't have AIM+, that would be why your IM's aren't being logged. :)

The issue with the manifest file was mentioned before (I'm not exactly sure where). I was hoping that the file wouldn't even be necessary for the next version of the program. I was having trouble with the skin I was making and I'm thinking about abandoning the concept altogether. Also, I left my computer in Raleigh and I won't have it again until the end of August, so this and all my other programming projects are on hold until then.

Will You Ever Implement Encryption into Your Viewer?

I've considered it more than once, but at this stage it doesnt seem likely. It will be fairly complex to implement in VB 6 unless I buy an encryption DLL online.

Alright, ever since i installed the history veiwer (thats not even working) i have been getting runtime errors in AIM all the time, a little dialog pops up that says:

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\AIM95\aim.exe

abnormal program termination.

Please help me out, its very very annoying.

Btw, if it helps, im running windows XP home edition, and the lastest AIM with AIM+.

That is AIM, if you are using 5.2.x it is a very common error, if you would read other posts. Jedi's Viewer in NO way edits the aim.exe.

When I first install the viewer it opens fine, but after that it just gives a error beep and does nothing. I have the controls from the site.

Where is that? Maybe I'm missing something (as far as what that is...).

Does this AIM+ History Viewer REPLACE the Big-O-Software viewer? That is, will installing the new one overwrite the old one and prevent me from using it? Or, does the new one just give me an additional viewer I can view my history files with?
